where is the nice weather? yesterday was the first day in a long long while that one could actually wear a sleeveless shirt and be comfortable outside. i have been looking forward to reading by the lake and there has been only one day that was possible (to which john and i spent a long afternoon reading at a picnic table about john adams and medical care). where is the nice weather?
anyway, sundresses and tank tops were out yesterday. emily was dressed in a 1940ish sundress for our art gallery gallavant where we visited the gift. i recommend it to anyone on campus or nearby- it is a collection of conceptual art pieces dating anywhere from the to now and they are truly thought or emotion provoking. some of the exhibits made me queezy, some were educational (matthieu laurette), and other were literally tasty (Felix Gonzales-Torres). what i liked about this exhibit was everyone had a running thought or thesis- may it be sitting naked in a fly infested public bathroom, lathered in honey and fish oil for one hour, or giving nine people a simple sculpture created out of a ten dollar bill and seeing what they do with it over the coarse of a year, or creating a pile of candy for the viewer to take.
