space elevator?

heaven is located on the top floor of the old marshal fields building. we took the elevator and swore we heard angels flapping their wings above. we illegally unloaded into a sparkling track lit hallway. green and pink lights led us to the garbage disposal and the boiler room. freight sized tanks lined the cement rooms and we traced our path through open doors. we scaled three steep ladders to the roof of heaven and from there saw the tops of every building in the area, five church steeples lined perspective in a row, and the hazy chicago skyline. there were no guardrails to keep us from floating off the building so we kneeled close to the ground when gazing down, spitting into gutters and tossing pennies. there was a sudden racket from below- doors closing and air ducts moving. we scurried back down the ladders, through the doors, past the garbage drop, and back down to earth- safe. would you take an elevator ride to space?
