waterfall

andrea felt the need to get in touch with nature so we headed to waterfall glenn. i had been to this park a few times many years ago & i vaguely remembered being unable to find the waterfall despite agressive attempts and multiple returns. but that was a long time ago & i felt more confident in my directional ability and inner compass. surely we would find the climatic "waterfall" & we would spread our red blanket on the ground and feast until sunset. alas we walked and walked, growling at the hot sun as our tummies concerned themselves with lunch. with two hours of weight-bearing-exercise we finally stumbled upon a legend and learned we took the ten mile route to the waterfall. back to the car & into the shade we lost ourselves among a hybrid of power plants and forrests. oh nature. we finally landed at the waterfall... the two foot drop of rushing water really was incredible... settled down and felt secure about our vitamin D production. nothing like illinois nature. really.

i am heading to minnesota tomorrow morning & will be back monday. think of me as i cross the great mississipi with my couch & succulant in tow. :o) have a great weekend!
