"When I sit down to write, I have these amazing characters in mind. I know to create a story I need tension, drama, & conflict. But I never want anything bad to happen to my characters because I get attached. I don't like conflict even here in my own life. So I place my characters in a safe bubble where I protect them. That's such a bad, uninteresting thing in writing," I told Mamie & Brady sometime back in February.
"Maybe you need to look at the situation in reverse," Mamie suggested. "Maybe bad things- tension, drama, and conflict- need to happen to the character so that they become the amazing person. They are built into an amazing person. That's interesting." She is brilliant.
